Final meeting in Italy

Last international meeting was held in Amandola, mountain village located on foot step to national park Sibillini mountains. The great limestone massif that stands in the southern Marche includes one of the highest peaks on the Italian mainland - Monte Vettore at 2,476 metres - and the wild tarns and windswept high plains of the Monti Sibillini provide some of the Marche's most spectacular landscapes.


First day on the international meeting was dedicated to hiking in Sibillini mountains. Due to non-stop showers it was not recommended to go hiking to uneven terrain and the international group of passionate about hiking granted visit to The Frasassi Caves are in the Marche Apennines. Frasassi caves are considered to be the most magnificent and fascinating underground routes in the world. visit of the cave was followed up by short hike to Temple of Valadier in Genga, set in the wonderful scenery of the Gorge of Frasassi, not far from the Frasassi Caves.


Second day morning was dedicated to visit of Landscape Museum (Anthropogeographic) in Amanodla and another short hike to Sibillini Mountains.




In the evening of second day the international delegation presented Hike Together project outcomes and best and popular hiking trails from Austria, Bulgaria, Italy a nd Croatia. Final event was attended by Mayor of Amandola Adolfo Marinangeli, who shown great interest in initiatives promoting hiking among young people also in isolated mountain cities such as Amandola in Marche.


After final event we had farewell dinner with mayor and all participants received certificate of attendance to the international project meeting from general secretary of Iniziativa Democratica.
